Pinctada margaritifera

Pinctada margaritifera is a species of sea pearling oyster. The native tribes were giving numerous virtues to the Mother-of-Pearl. According to them, this iridescent substance, which contributes to protect and reinforce the shellfi shes, would also protect and fortify the body. Its chemical composition is very close to the Tahitian Pearl’s one.
