Zingiber zerumbet

Zingiber zerumbet widely grows in the damp valleys of Polynesian archipelagoes Islands and others tropical countries. It is most known as “Ginger shampoo” since the slimy juice present in the infl orescence is used as shampoo and natural hair conditioner. As other cosmetic application, the sweet juice is ancestrally said to be excellent for massage. The rhizome is also used rasped or ground.
